Recital Information - This Information will be distributed with the January statements

Hello Legacy Family,

We are excited to begin preparation for our first Legacy Dance Recital which is on Saturday, May 29!

We know you will have many questions over the next few months. Please feel free to email us with your questions. Our email is thelegacydance@gmail.com.

1. Recital Fee added to your monthly billing:

You will find extra expenses added to your statements beginning with your January billing. One of the expenses will be the recital fee of $28 per month. Below are just a few of the expenses that are required to produce a wonderful show for everyone to enjoy:

Tennessee Performing Arts Center Rental for 2 days
Insurance
Security
Ushers
Professional Back Stage Technicians
Back Stage Staff
Lighting
Props
Digital Music Preparation
Programs
Ticket Printing
BMI and ASCAP fees

2. Costume Fee added to your monthly billing:

A costume fee will be added to your monthly billing. We would like to estimate the costume fee for January monthly billing and then calculate the exact fee beginning in February. This will only be for costumes that are ordered. Some of the dances may require costumes that can be put together from some of the students existing costumes or other types of clothing for dances such as hip-hop or the opening number. We will have this all finalized before the February billing.

The 3-4 year old classes will only perform 2 dances at the recital and they will only pay for 2 costumes. All other classes will perform 3 dances at the recital. We will try to keep the costume costs on an average of $50 and below per costume for the younger students and $65 max for the older students.

Costume costs do not include tights, earrings or special hair accessories. We will add these accessories to the final billings.

If you are on the competition teams, you will only pay for costumes that are added for recital. For example, if you are already competing with a tap and jazz dance, then you will only be charged for the lyrical (ballet) dance that will be added for recital. So you would only pay an extra $10 per month costume fee as an example to purchase that one costume for recital.

3. Rehearsal and Recital Dates

Rehearsal is on Friday, May 28 and Recital is on Saturday, May 29. Times will be announced later. For rehearsal, we are planning for an initial “run through” of the recital in normal dancewear and then do a full dress rehearsal afterwards.

4. Recital Pictures

We have already booked a professional photographer to come to the studio to make group and individual pictures. These dates and times will be announced later. This will save standing in long lines at recital rehearsal for pictures. We will also use this time as a dress rehearsal at the studio.

5. Recital Videos

We are looking into the videographers but have not made a final decision.

6. Recital Tickets

We are not expecting to sell the lower level tickets. Our estimates should cover all expenses. We will calculate the number of tickets that will be given to each student based on the number of seats in lower level of the Jackson divided by the number of students enrolled in Legacy. These tickets will be packaged and drawn from a blind selection by a parent when all the student’s final payments have been made.

The upper level of Jackson is open seating.

More detailed information will follow. As always, thank you for all your kindness and patience during our first year.
